About Cherished

Our Vision

At Cherished, we work to empower young women in the Midlands by providing a safe space to explore identity, ambitions and relationships.

Our aim is for girls to grow in confidence, self-esteem and character, providing a foundation to make positive lifestyle choices and fulfil their true potential.

Our Work

The Cherished course is currently run in Primary and Secondary schools in Birmingham and Derby. We also provide mentoring services, weekly Blossom sessions and educational workshops for both young people and their parents.

The Team

Cherished's directors, Hannah and Milly, head up an ever increasing team of volunteers. Our ladies mentor Cherished girls, staff Blossom, keep on top of admin, fundraise and organise events.

The volunteers that power Cherished's work are of all ages, from 18 to 80! Some work, others are retired or in further education.

Blossom Once our younger girls have completed the Cherished course, they are invited to join Blossom. We meet once a week to continue learning about Cherished topics, make new friends and have immense fun along the way.	Girl Power Congratulations on completing the Cherished course girls! To continue building confidence and self-esteem, every girl follows up the course in weekly, individual sessions with an experienced, Cherished mentor.

Blossom Residential Each summer, we take our Blossom girls on a 2-night activity centre residential. It's a great way to reward everyone's hard work and for the girls to keep developing their friendships. Keep checking back for info on the 2015 residential - we are busy planning!	Blossom Young Leaders Thank you to all our girls who have written an application to be a Blossom Young Leader. We were blown away by how passionate your letters were and had a tough time choosing our new Young Leaders.

This was our contribution in 2014; can we give even more this year?	Team Building Positive friendships is a big focus in Blossom. Our team leaders love thinking up imaginative ways to learn how to be a good friend to others and manage our emotions. All of our Blossom girls are fantastic friendship ambassadors!
